First of all, thank you very much for viewing this pattern! If you love Harry Potter as much as I do, then you're going to love this pattern very much :) If you saw the of my own Harry Potter scarf then you know how this is going to look like. If you did not see it, I have included a (terrible) picture.

Anyways, here we go :) It's a very easy pattern so even if you're a beginner this will be easy.
p.s: with this pattern your scarf will be about 8 inches wide.
Materials
About 3 skeins of your main color yarn (if you want to make the gryffindor scarf, use something like red wine). About 2 skeins of your second color (again, if you're making gryffindor I suggest mustard yellow).
Size 5 needles ( you can choose bigger obviously because it depends on what kind of yarn you have, but I thought that 5 looked the best because it looks really neat).
The pattern
1) Cast on 55 stitches
2) R1: Knit 1, Purl 1, Knit 1, Purl 1, etc until the end of the row.
R2: Purl 1, Knit 1, Purl 1, Knit 1, etc until the end of the row.
Very important that you realize that every row starts differently!
Repeat these 2 rows until you have 30 rows (you should have ended with a purl row)
3) Switch to your second color! (Please watch a video on youtube if you don't know how to do this).
R1: Knit 1, Purl 1, Knit 1, Purl 1, etc until the end of the row R2: Purl 1, Knit 1, Purl 1, Knit 1 etc until the end of the row
Do this until you have 6 rows in total (again ending with a purl row)
4) Switch back to your main color.
R1: Knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1 etc until the end of the row
R2: purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1 etc until the end of the row
Do this until you have 4 rows in total (ending with a purl row)
5) Switch to your second color again
R1: Knit 1, Purl 1, Knit 1, Purl 1, etc until the end of the row R2: Purl 1, Knit 1, Purl 1, Knit 1 etc until the end of the row
Do this until you have 6 rows in total (again ending with a purl row)
6) Switch to your main color
Repeat the pattern! (So start of with 30 rows of your main color and then switch to your second color, etc.)
I did this until I had about 10 sets of stripes of the second color, but you can do it as many times as you want :)
I hope this helps! Please do show me your end results :)
